Our farm is located on a swamp ridge north of Thibodaux, La.

Since 2007, our primary focus has been breeding Black Copper Marans, Blue Copper Marans, and Mallard Ducks.

Our Poultry is rare breeds. We selectively chose our best breeders, to ensure you get our best quality.

Marans chickens originated in western France in the town of Marans. The Marans club of France established in 1929 to keep this rare breed pure. The Marans Club is working with this rare breed.

Marans are best known for their rich dark chocolate eggs.  They're raised by many backyard flock owners, and their eggs are a favorite of many chefs. Marans eggs are tasty, and make the breakfast of champions.

In the James Bond movies, they're agent 007's favorite eggs. The eggs average 2.27 oz (64.4g)   and meet the USDA "Extra Large" classification. Sometimes we'll pick up double yolk eggs.

The original French Marans has feathered shanks on down to their outside toe.      the cock birds average 8.0 lbs., and hens 6.5 lbs.

We started our flock our flock of black coppers in 2007, with Wade Jean C1. and C2 lines, and Bev Davis lines, Over the years, we have selected our best breeders, and created our own lines.

In 2011 the American Poultry Association (A.P.A.) recognized Black Copper Marans as a breed.

Our Marans are bred to French standards with feathered shanks. This is the same as the American Black Copper Marans, both call for feathered shanks.

Our Marans love to free range, and it makes up a big part of their diet. The feed in the grass, and vegetation along the ponds, where they hunt worms, minnows, crawfish, and anything that wiggles. Free range makes a more tastier egg.
